NEGATIVE EGO

The Ego is the “I” in each of us. The Ego is not always negative, but when our Ego lacks awareness of our true nature of Unconditional Love, we become arrogant, greedy, narcissistic, and self-centered. If this lack of awareness dominates our everyday experiences, we are bombarded by intense negative emotions. When we are so Ego bound, we remain feeling fearful, unloved, powerless, incapable, and insecure keeping us in the same pattern of behavior. When this occurs, we become defensive often becoming abusive, or we withdraw feeling sorry for ourselves and feeling victimized. Our Ego is formed from our belief systems learned from Environmental Influences. This is why Self-Reflection, Prayer, and Meditation are essential for our emotional well-being.
